Celine Daniele Cardineau (she/they) is a French-American visionary multidisciplinary creatrix based in Montréal, Quebec (also known as Tiohtiá:ke, "where the currents meet"). With over a decade of intensive formal training in drawing and painting, she possesses a strong technical foundation in visual arts. She holds a BFA with distinction from Concordia University (2019), double majoring in Studio Arts and Design for the Theatre.
A truly multidisciplinary artist, Celine's work is sensory and cerebral, playful and deep, strong and soft, intuitive and calculated. Her aesthetic choices are deeply symbolic and innocently unexpected. She distills ideas into their simplest form, then interweaves layer upon layer of meaning, with intellectual and instinctive intentionality, until the piece is a fractal in disguise. She masterfully employs colour, geometry, mark-making and materiality to explore themes of spiritual transcendence, postcolonial ecofeminism, embodiment, and multidimensional consciousness.
A stylistic chameleon, Celine's versatility makes her a valuable collaborator and executor. Her infinite curiosity leads her on a winding path of creative pursuits, always seeking to learn something new.

* As a video editor, production designer and creative director, Celine develops visually enticing worlds, adding new layers of profundity and nuance to the crafted narrative. Depending on the director's vision, she can deliver both the expected and the unexpected.
* As a visionary painter and visual artist, Celine allows energies, archetypes, sacred geometries, and surreal psychic spaces to emerge organically from the liminal realms. In communicating these visions, she strategically uses color theory, numerology, natural elements, ancient symbols and cross-cultural mythologies to encode her work with multidimensional meaning. By studying symbolism, Celine attempts to tap into the current of universal truth within the stories we tell ourselves, and thus create keys to unlock deeper truths in the viewer's consciousness.
* Celine offers live painting to accompany events and performances. Her painting process is characterized by a graceful use of geometry to layout the composition, then creating depth and movement through colorful layers. (See "Visionary Artwork" to view a sample.)
* As a portrait artist, Celine is dedicated to materializing the essence of the subject, by seeing through the eyes of the client. Skilled in representational drawing, she can capture a person's proportions in little or lots of detail, with love and admiration coming through every mark. She loves commission work because of this intimate process.
* Celine's art criticism has been featured in multiple publications, including reviews of Montreal theatre and dance premieres, Festival TransAmérique performances, and gallery exhibitions. She held the position of Head Writer and Online Editor for Yiara Magazine, Concordia's undergraduate feminist art and art history publication.
* Celine also writes, illustrates, and binds picture books by hand. She has studied the art of paper-making, and adores the infinite textural possibilities of handmade paper, especially in transmitting a story.
* Celine has worked in art education, teaching drawing and painting to children (ages 6-12) and adults. In 2020, Celine and her partner co-founded Blue Cardinal Art Academy, offering courses and creative mentorship to emerging artists and corporate leaders.
